from Dr. ku's local secretary, tranezitting an Anglish

translation of that communication which he indicated it

was the intention of Dr. da to communiste to the press

early in the New Year.

I am today replying to the Commissioner's letter

of the 24th instant, informing him that Dr. Hu'e comumni-

cation has been forwarded to His Majesty's Legation.

From the report of the trial contained in

12th instant, copy of shich has been sent to me direct, it

will be seen that the question of the jurisdiction of the

Ceurt in Hongkong was raised by Counsel for the befence

and that it was decided that the Court had jurisdiction.

The Hongkong Police Report also shows that six out of the

seven convicted pirates had taken part in previous piracies.
